When AI-generated copy and imagery must be labelled, and when they must not.

Who should care. Anyone shipping AI-written copy or AI product imagery into the EU — marketers, freelancers, agencies.

If you are new. AI rules here are not “ban ChatGPT.” They are about when the law wants people to know something synthetic is in the message. Read the one EU AI Act page; most of the panic is vendor marketing.

Common mistake. Slapping “AI generated” on every newsletter (theatre) or ignoring photoreal synthetic product shots (real risk). Draft text a human could reject is not the same as a fake product photo.
